Dr. Andreas Müller-Buder

studied veterinary medicine in Hanover. Since 1993, he has headed the consumer protection and animal welfare department of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. He formerly initiated the BALVI project in Schleswig-Holstein by introducing the concept of a comprehensive, all-encompassing database for veterinary management and was instrumental in developing the first BALVI programmes of BALVI GmbH.

Dr. Kurt J. Peters

is a retired senior university professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin. For 40 years, his research and teaching activities have focused on promoting the livestock sector in developing countries. For more than 40 years he has cooperated closely with the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and he himself has taken over key management functions in this organisation. As the long-standing president of the ATSAF – the Council for Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural Research - he was also able to make an active contribution to the promotion of international agricultural research in Germany.
